Lakewood
Lakewood occupies an area in the city of Dallas bounded by Central Expressway to the west, Mockingbird Lane to the north, Loop 12 to the east, and Fair Park to the south. One of Dallas' oldest and most venerable neighborhoods, Lakewood was established in 1882, only a few decades after the city itself was founded.
Neighborhoods throughout Lakewood are well established and consist entirely of well-kept single-family homes. Residents like the area just the way it is and are committed to maintaining a distinctive neighborhood character that traces its roots to the early 1900's. From the old-timers whose families have been in the area for several generations to the newcomers who move in on a regular basis, residents of Lakewood recognize each other with one important term - neighbor.
Lake Highlands
Lake Highlands is loosely defined as an area from Central Expressway and LBJ to just west of Jupiter Road, and north of Northwest Highway. The outstanding schools are just a part of the appeal to this truly family oriented neighborhood. Just north of White Rock Lake with numerous parks, a newly built YMCA, and great shopping Lake Highlands is a neighborhood that appeals to people wanting comfort and a community feel.
Recognized as two of the most respected and charming areas of Dallas, Lake Highlands and Lakewood enjoys a splendid location and a special ambience that accrues, in part, from their proximity to White Rock Lake and the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.
